Chapter 22-22: to my friends that are heading to Shanghai...

dedicating this entry to my dear friends who are heading to shanghai this summer =) hope this can help you guys to have a smoother trip! i think i will start with some important website that helped me around last time.

Flight Tickets http://www.ntogo.com/index.aspx
I purchased my flight from here the last time i went to Shanghai. they are very nice and friendly. furthermore, i purchased openjaw ticket which allows me to change my flight dates whenever i want to. however, do note that the price does not include tax.

TaoBao http://www.taobao.com/
taobao is an awesome shopping site that has almost everything inside. you can check and compare the prices here before you decide to purchase it. it is trust-able and fast. girls will get addicted to this and shop 24/7. haha.

DianPing http://www.dianping.com/shanghai
this website have whole loads of review for food, services and anything else under the sun. if you are unsure about the restaurant that you will be trying out or the services is worth your money, you can always check this site out to see what other people have to say first. also, it is also good because there's a lot of promotion and recommendations inside. it's a good way to save money via printing the coupons out. if you are lazy, this site also have all the numbers of the shops. most of them provide FREE delivery. (that explains why i put on so much weight when i was there...)

google ditu http://ditu.google.cn/
i am not sure if you will be able to view this when you are in china since there's been an issue with google and china currently. however, this google map is the most comprehensive map i've ever used when i was in china. it has details of all the shops on it.

ddmap http://www.ddmap.com/
ddmap was recommended to me by one of my friends in Shanghai. it is mostly use for looking up places and how to get there in the shortest time via bus, metro.

Train Tickets http://www.huochepiao.com/
this is the official site for china's train transport. you can go to a lot of places with it and at a reasonable price.

Shanghai Metro Stations http://www.shmetro.com/
Shanghai has many metro stations. not sure where to change train and which is the fastest route. do check here for the full map.

do feel free to comment if you all need more additional information. i will try my best to give it to ya.

enjoy your internships people!

Cheers,
Fern

P.S. facebook, blogspot, youtube and twitter are BLOCK in china.
